Examining Police Reform in the Era of Social Media and Black Lives Matter

Register

Featuring:
T. Greg Doucette, conservative lawyer and activist against police brutality
Jared Lowe, co-editor, How We Stay Free: Notes on a Black Uprising

This dialogue examines how diverse ideological positions have engaged with notions of police reform, particularly as social media and Internet activism have made incidents of police brutality and law enforcement violence more public. Our discussants highlight the complex nature of this issue and why this conversation isn’t as simple as a Black Lives Matter vs. Back the Blue debate.

This conversation is part of COMM 3280: Drawing the Blue Line: Police and Power in American Popular Culture, a SNF Paideia designated course taught by Murali Balaji, Ph.D.

Open to the Penn Community. Registration required.
