In this virtual workshop, we will work on becoming aware of how our own experiences and identities, as well as dominant cultural norms in the U.S., have shaped our unconscious expectations for what dialogue “should” look like and accomplish. We’ll develop skills for engaging with people who don’t just think, but also listen and talk differently than we do.

All identities and all levels of “wokeness” are welcome and will benefit. You’ll be invited, but not required, to share your reflections. No breakout rooms.

Facilitated by Dr. Sarah Ropp, a teacher and researcher of dialogue and a postdoctoral fellow with the SNF Paideia Program and the Andrea Mitchell Center.
